John was trained as a molecular biologist at the University of California at San Diego.  Since that time, he has been involved in the study and practical application of his graduate education in Medical Technology for over 40 years.  John has held various positions of responsibility in the biotechnology industry such as Marketing Manager, North American Sales Director, Account Executive and Field Marketing Manager for the Molecular Centers of Excellence program at the biotechnology giant Roche Diagnostics.

John is constantly improving his skills as a pilot and his knowledge of Kiswahili, both of which “come in handy” when traveling in and around the coastal regions of Eastern Africa.

John and his Mother live half of their year in San Diego and the other half in Nanyuki, Kenya.
